Parachute was just invited to the prestigious film series at the CINEGEAR EXPO. Our cinematographer, Damian Acevedo had a film screen there in the past, and said it’s a great festival.
The screening takes place on the Universal Studios backlot, and we’d love for anybody in the Los Angeles area to come join us. We’ll be screening on Thursday, June 19th at 11:45am. Click here for tickets and info. It should be a lot of fun!
Well we couldn’t be more excited. This weekend Paul and Lucas will be flying to Salt Lake City, and roadtripping it up to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for the Jackson Hole Film Festival, where Parachute will have it’s biggest festival screening yet.
We’ve heard great things about the festival and were delighted by Artistic Director Melanie Miller’s description of what they’re all about. Plus we’ll get to visit what Lucas believes is “the most beautiful spot in America”, the Grand Tetons.
If you know anyone in the Jackson Hole area, please let them know about our screenings as part of the Shorts Program II series:
- THURSDAY JUNE 5, at 8pm
- SATURDAY JUNE 7, at 3:45pm
We hope to see you there!
Great news! Parachute was just accepted to the Rhode Island International Film Festival. As Providence, where the festival takes place, is where Paul and Lucas’ collaboration began, just going there would be enough! But as it turns out, according to Chris Gore (author of the leading book on film festivals) RIIFF is “One of the top 10 Short Film Festivals and Top 10 International Film Festivals in the United States. The RIIFF provides the kind of intimate festival experience that will change your life. Don’t miss it. “
So that’s pretty good. It also happens to be one of the 1% of all the film festivals in the world that has been designated as a qualifying festival for the Short Films category for the Annual Academy Awards.
No big deal.
The Arizona desert was kind to PARACHUTE, in its maiden voyage. We couldn’t have had a better time with the folks down there. The movie was extremely well-received, and we met some great people, including Jeremy Brunjes and Kimberly Wetherel.
A special thanks to Greg Hall, Jason Carney, and Scott Rogers of the Phoenix Film Festival, who showed us a great time.
We’re headed to Phoenix tomorrow for our first fest. We are super excited about it. Hopefully, we’ll meet some cool people and see what audiences really think of this movie!
If you’re in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area this weekend, our film is showing on Saturday at 5:10pm and Sunday at 12:05pm at the Harkins Scottsdale/101 Theater, as part of the Live Action Shorts Program A. You can get tickets on the festival’s website here.
Well, we couldn’t be happier. Today we received a highly delightful call from Melanie Miller of the Jackson Hole Film Festival.
She invited us to join her at the 2008 Fest! Our friend Kristina Lear showed her short, Cough Drop, at the JHFF last year, and she said it’s a real blast.
It also happens to be one of the most beautiful places in the world.
And look at their crazy laurels:

The Fresno Film Festival will be the second festival to show PARACHUTE!
Fresno? We say Fres-YES!
It’s been a long process, but every step has been so enjoyable so far.
- Shooting with Damian Acevedo and the cast and crew
- Editing with Nimrod Erez
- Working on the music with Eric Lindley
- Josh Eichenbaum hooking it up in the sound design department
We are super proud of this movie and we can’t wait to show it to the world!
Thanks so much to all those who have lent their talents.
Well, we knew good things were on the way, but we didn’t realize the good things would start coming so soon.
We recently learned that PARACHUTE will have its World Premiere at the Phoenix Film Festival in early April. We are so thrilled to be a part of this exciting festival. We’ve heard great things about it.
Let’s hope it’s the first of many!
Well what a weekend! The shoot went great. Everyone was great to work with, and we can’t wait to begin the editing process…!
